About 58% of Peruvian casino games and slots machines are working illegally, supported by court resolutions that allow this situation. Only 3% of the total number of games are allowed by the Ministry of Foreign Commerce and Tourism.

Miguel Zamora, National Director of Tourism, informed that there are 930 casinos in the country, and only 40 have the authorization of the Ministry. Seven of these registered casinos work in five stars hotels and restaurants.

From the total number of slot machines rooms, only 33 (4%) have the official authorization. Meanwhile, 519 (55%) are working with a court authorization and special laws. However, 378 (41%) are informal casinos.
